Firm Secures Compassionate Release for Pro Bono Client
The firm was successful in securing compassionate release for an incarcerated pro bono client suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Our client, who is represented by Christine M. Calogero, Michael A. Balascio, and Stephen R. Klaffky, served over ten years of his sentence for drug-related offenses and was facing nearly ten more. Due to his medical condition, a federal court in Florida granted his petition for compassionate release, drafted by Ms. Calogero, and ordered that he be released immediately to the care of his mother and family. The client’s sentence was reduced to time served, to be followed by one year of home confinement and five years of supervised release.
