Amicus Brief Effort Supports Successful Challenge to Congressional Redistricting Map

Judge Shelly Dick of the Middle District of Louisiana issued a preliminary injunction in Press Robinson, et al. v. Kyle Ardoin, in his Official Capacity as Secretary of State for Louisiana, No. 22-211-SDD-SDJ (M.D. La.), on Monday, June 6, enjoining the State of Louisiana from proceeding with the congressional elections using the congressional map enacted by the legislature. Judy Barrasso and Viviana Aldous of Barrasso Usdin, together with Jenner & Block, represented a group of math and computer science professors at Louisiana State University and Tulane University who filed an amicus brief in this case advocating for the rejection of the congressional map enacted by the legislature and submitting a proposed map based on science.
