Firm Secures TAF Dismissal in Pending LSU Title IX Suit

The firm was pleased to defend Tiger Athletic Foundation in the pending Title IX suit against the LSU Board of Supervisors and others.  As originally pled, ten plaintiffs brought a state and federal RICO and civil rights lawsuit against nineteen different defendants on behalf of a putative class of current and former University students.  After filing motions to dismiss, serving targeted discovery requests, and conferring with plaintiffs’ counsel about the legitimacy of their claims, plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed TAF from this litigation—without payment of any settlement or finding of any wrongdoing.  Judy Barrasso, Lon LeSueur, Chloé Chetta, and Lance Waters handled the matter.
