Barrasso Usdin Wins Multimillion Dollar Appeal at U.S. Fifth Circuit

Representing one of the largest property and casualty insurers in the country at the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Judy Barrasso, Christine Calogero, and Stephen Klaffky successfully defended a district court’s summary judgment ruling, which agreed with their client’s interpretation of a multimillion-dollar settlement agreement.  At the district court, the team persuaded the court to grant summary judgment in a declaratory judgment action stemming from the interpretation of the settlement agreement, after defeating abstention, preclusion, and dismissal arguments.
