Federal Court Grants Summary Judgment to Client in Business Dispute

(Client: International Produce Supplier)

In lawsuit pending in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Court sided with the firm's client, awarding the full amount sought on breach-of-contract counterclaim.  The firm was retained to represent a company involved in complex contractual dispute.  In addition to defending the client in lawsuit on open account, the firm prosecuted counterclaims for damage caused to client's product and equipment.  The firm successfully defended against summary judgment seeking dismissal of the product damage claims.  The firm also filed a successful summary judgment motion and received a judgment for the full amount sought for claims arising out of damage to its equipment.

Judy Y. Barrasso and Chrissy M. Calogero handled the matter.  Both Judy and Chrissy regularly represent businesses in commercial and contractual disputes in both state and federal court.
