Barrasso Usdin Successfully Obtained Summary Judgment for Client

Barrasso Usdin recently obtained summary judgment on behalf of its client, dismissing a multi-million dollar potential recovery, in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana.  In the litigation, plaintiffs alleged that a failed business deal would have been successful and, if so, would have generated hundreds of millions of dollars.  Barrasso Usdin moved for summary judgment on plaintiffs’ claims for lost profits and future earnings, arguing that the claims were too speculative.  The court agreed, granting summary judgment in the defendants’ favor and ultimately leading to a successful resolution of the remaining claims between the parties.  Steve Kupperman led the trial team, along with partner Michael Balascio.
