Partner George Freeman Speaks at SIFMA Annual Conference

George C. Freeman, III, the managing partner of Barrasso Usdin and the former head of the firm’s securities litigation and regulation practice, served as a panelist at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) Compliance & Legal Society Annual Seminar held March 30th – April 2nd in Orlando, Florida.

George’s panel focused on “Arbitration: The Way We Were & The Way We Are Now.” The issues the panel addressed included:

  • Arbitrator Selection and the All Public Panel Rule
  • Use of Class Action Waivers Against Claimants and Employees
  • Non-Traditional Claimants: Who is a Customer Under FINRA Rule 12200?
  • Discovery Considerations in Complex Product Cases
  • Motions to Vacate: Standards and Tactical Considerations

Rogers of Rogers & Hardin, and Kevin Carroll, Managing Director and Associate General Counsel of SIFMA.
